They're plant based and most flavors have 15g of fiber and 14-15g of protein. It feels like looking for a unicorn sometimes □Īloha - I get them through Thrive Market. I look for plant-based/sustainable, dairy/gluten free, and lower carb with high fiber (if I can get the net carbs around 20g or lower I'm happy). I am simply taking a fun way to taste test protein bars and putting it out there for discussion and analysis! ***NONE of this is a paid affiliate, I put my own money out for all the bars, and my time. I have a google doc link here where you can see the flavor breakdown, macro breakdown and cost breakdown between Built and Pure Protein. So if you wanted more diverse good flavors than some brands, Built is good for that. Another note, are the macros, I would say they are better calorie wise (ranging from 130-180) but the sugar/protein/carbs are pretty well on par with Pure Protein. BUT I do like a handful of the flavors, and would probably consider getting a couple of the 6 packs to make my usual monthly haul more interesting. The verdict, well Built is American, I am living in Canada, and the cost is more than the price per bar for Pure Protein. So to have some fun I did an analysis of the 18 different flavors of Built protein bars*** and compared them to my go to Pure Protein bars. I find when any brand does this, like Quest or ONE protein bars, they all kind of taste the same and the flavor of the intended bar isn't always true. I bought an 18 pack of their mixed pack, so it was quit a lot. I recently found out about Built protein bars through a youtuber I was watching and decided to check them out. But I found either the flavors were not great or all tasted the same, bad texture, or were too costly. I have tried in addition to those above Quest, Cliff protein bars, Powerbar protein, kirkland brand, simply protein, vega protein. I also like a few flavors from ONE and Oatmega, but they are more costly, and in the case of Oatmega they are hard to find in stores and in stock online. I have about 4 flavors I go for, but I am always on the lookout for new brands to spice things up. I have been eating Pure Protein for a couple years now as they are cheap, available on Amazon and in Walmart (Canada), and have a pretty good macro breakdown. This has been a massive challenge with lots of fun taste testing. I have gone through MANY protein bars over the years trying to find the one that is low enough in calories to use in my daily caloric intake, low in sugars and have a reasonable amount of protein AND taste good.
